My Project: R&R Upper control arm bushings
My Vehicle: 2000 Chev S-10 w/2,2L L4 and 2 wheel drive.

MY QUESTION: *(Following the removal of brake line and sensors from control arm and also seperation of ball joint) Will the upper control arm slide off of the pivot bolts that extend outward from the mounting bracket once the nuts and shims are removed? It appears on my truck that the pivot bolts are attached one piece on offset that is held
into place with two lock bolts. I dont see where there is any slack to slide the upper control arm off the ends.

Optional Information:
2000 Chevrolet S-10 2.2 L4

Ok you have everything removed from control arm then you remove the 2 nuts that hold the control arm to the frame and remove control arm with the shaft still through the bushings.

Once all is off the vehicle then the control arm bushings can be pressed out and the new pressed back in. See Below

CONTROL ARM BUSHING REPLACEMENT

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this section.
  2. Remove or disconnect the following:
    • Upper control arm and place it in a vice

    To install:

  5. Tighten J 22269-1 until the bushing is positioned on the shaft and the control arm as shown in the accompanying illustration. The measurement should be 0.48–0.52 inch (12.8–13.8mm) at both sides when the properly installed.
